Briar Chapel

Briar Chapel is the largest green community in the Triangle region, located on 1,580 acres in north Chatham County. It is the first development in North Carolina to require homebuilders to comply with the North Carolina Green Build Initiative requirements and third-party testing.

Briar Chapel has been designed from the ground up with a focus on green building principles and quality of life. Features include:

  • LEED Certified clubhouse with gathering spaces, tennis, two pools, and a fitness center
  • 24 miles of interpretive trails, boardwalks and paved paths
  • 900 acres of open space and greenways
  • 66-acre community park, and 21 neighborhood parks
  • Natural amphitheatre
  • Planned Village Center to feature restaurants, shops and office space
  • Planned public middle school (Briar Chapel Middle School) to be located adjacent to the neighborhood

Briar Chapel is still under development as of late 2009. Lots and new homes are available as well as resale homes.
